Dear all,
Below is the list of newly elected members of our association. There was one candidate for each of the six vacant positions. Considering that the positions were unopposed, voters were still given the 3 options. Voting for, voting against or remaining abstain in electing each candidate.
32 members were eligible to vote. 16 voted. All the candidates
1. President.
OB GHAZALI AJIJOLAIYA 1982 SET,
elected by 16 yes votes.
2. Vice President-USA.
OB FEMI DAVID DOKUN 1982 Set
elected by 16 yes votes.
3. Vice president Europe.
OB TAIWO OLANIYI -1988 Set
elected by 16 yes votes.
4. General Secretary.
OB SEGUN ODEJIDE ? 1988 Set.
elected by 16 yes votes.
5. Treasurer
OB GBADEBO ADEBAYO -1981 Set.
elected by 16 yes votes.
6. Public Relations Officer.
OB DAVID ADEWUMI- 1987 Set.
elected by 15 yes votes and 1 abstain.
7. Ex Officio ? OB MUSIBAU AROGUNDADE -1979 Set (unelected).
Two members were unable to cast their votes online due to issue with internet glitch. Communication barrier made it impossible to resolve the glitch before the election closed automatically. The 2 cases were regretted. Hopefully, such would never happened with us in subsequent elections as more population get accustomed to potentials internet has made available to mankind.
NOTES:
- 1.There was no single protest received, observed or recorded all through the election process.
- 2.Again, out of the 32 eligible voters, 16(fifty percent) successfully voted.
- 3. The sum of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) was expended to use the online tool for the election.
- 4. Election Committee reached out to 2 OB members for support in technical area. They are:
a). OB Hassan Olayiwola on legal documents and documentations.
b). OB Segun Odejide in exploring, selecting and building the internet portal eventually used for the innovative and successful election.
- 5. We appreciate ALL members for giving 5 of us in the Election Committee unrestrained opportunity to function.
- 6. We salute the management ability of the past Executive and congratulate the newly elected team. We look forward to the new team taking us to greater achievements beyond what we were known for globally.
